OUR STORY AND MISSION
About Semper Fi Steel
Semper Fi Steel Built was started on a dream and a prayer. The owner, Cathy Holland-Holtz has nearly two decades of experience and has had exposure to all aspects of the industry. After working with 2000+ projects, she had heard all of the concerns that customers have had with their past experiences in the metal building industry. The building not being designed correctly for the usages, drawings were delayed, the steel was delayed, non-existent customer service after their building was delivered, and the missing parts and pieces.
So, we sell on a business model of complete transparency and problem solving. We focus our efforts on listening to the customer and understanding what their needs are. We want to help solve their problems, not become a part of the problem. For us, this entails educating the customer where their building will be manufactured, completing the design before a signed contract, and keeping an open communication with the customer and our staff until the project is complete. We sell solutions, not just a product.
In this current business climate, a customer may feel overwhelmed and taken advantage of. We offer our knowledge to prevent unforeseen conflicts, whether it be monetary or design-related.
Cathy Holland-Holtz Owner
I've spent nearly two decades immersed in the steel building industry, getting my start back in 2008. After years of learning the ins and outs of the business — and seeing firsthand how impersonal the industry could feel — I set out to do things differently. In 2021, I founded Semper-Fi Steel with a simple goal: treat every client like a partner, not just another sale.
The military is very close to my heart. My husband, my son, my father, and my uncle are all Marine veterans, and that connection runs deep in our family. It's also something we carry into our business — as a company, we do everything we can to give back to and support other veterans.
Outside of work, I'm a devoted wife and mother to two grown sons, who have gifted me with five grandchildren between the two of them. I'm happiest with a passport in hand or my hands in the dirt — traveling to new places and tending to my garden are two of my favorite ways to unwind. But nothing beats time spent with my grandkids, who keep me grounded and remind me what really matters. That same sense of family and connection is something I carry into how I run my business and treat the people I work with.
Paola M. Comp Director of Operations
As Director of Operations, I bring seven years of experience in the steel building industry, with a background that spans project management, pre-sales support, and estimating. My role allows me to be involved in projects from the early planning and budgeting stages through coordination and execution, giving me a well-rounded understanding of what it takes to move a project from concept to completion.
I take pride in being organized, dependable, and solution-oriented, and I believe that strong communication and attention to detail are essential to delivering a successful project. Building lasting relationships with customers, contractors, and industry partners is just as important to me as the buildings themselves.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my 3 children and husband, reading, traveling, and staying active through indoor cycling and walking trails. I value hard work, family, and maintaining a healthy balance between professional and personal life.
